Premier League season comes with great surprises and memorable performances. Like Sergio Aguero’s five goals against Newcastle United, Georginio Wijnaldum’s four goals against Norwich, Petr Cech’s goalkeeping masterclass against Liverpool and so on.

But there are some players who have exceeded our expectations with their performances this season.

We take a look at the 5 surprising packages of the Premier League season.

5. Hector Bellerin:

The Arsenal full-back is arguably the most in form right back in the Premier League at the moment. He has shown in both defense and attack that he has what it takes to be a world class defender. Bellerin is reportedly faster than Theo Walcott and has beaten the Arsenal striker to a 100m race in the training.
His performances against Manchester United, Swansea, Bayern Munich and others this season have forced Arsene Wenger to drop Mathieu Debuchy. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Bellerin join the Spain squad for the Euros in France next summer as Juanfran’s understudy.

4. Dimitri Payet:

The former Marseille man has been one of the most creative players for West Ham this season. He has been the architect of their wins against Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City this season. The former Ligue 1 man has scored five goals in the league this season. Along with Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla, he has created the most chances in the league.

3. Riyad Mahrez:

The Algerian international’s form has been so good that Arsenal and Barcelona are eyeing a move for the attacking midfielder. With seven goals in the league so far this season, he is only behind teammate Jamie Vardy in the top scoring charts. Mahrez scores as well as assists. A move to a bigger club in the future is on the cards for this player but this season, he can guide Claudio Ranieri’s men to a top 8 finish.

2. Chris Smalling:

The English centre half has been one of the silver linings for Manchester United this season. A couple of seasons ago, his United career was heading no where but under Louis Van Gaal, the defender has shown why Sir Alex Ferguson bought him in the first place. He is the favourite to be the next Manchester United captain.

1. Jamie Vardy:

Vardy has been so good that Real Madrid are watching his performances and might make a move for the striker in January. He has scored in eight consecutive matches for Leicester. With 11 goals in the league and leading with a huge margin, Vardy is proving week in week out why he could be the Golden boot winner this season. His amazing form has also seen him get his first England cap.
